The date for our Fourth Annual Wild Game Dinner is quickly approaching (Fourth Annual Wild Game Dinner – Kentucky Wounded Heroes). As you know this is a major fund-raising effort for us. Because of significant increases in the cost of sponsoring activities for our Wounded Heroes, these fund-raising efforts are more important than ever. In response to that need, we are increasing the number of available seats for the 2023 Dinner to 500. Obviously there will be a corresponding increase in the need for volunteers to help in setup, cooking, serving, and cleanup. In addition, there will also be a need for volunteers to help with securing items for both the silent and live auctions as well as helping with the associated logistics.
In previous years, the bulk of the work for this dinner has fallen on the same few people. This year we need additional folks to step up and take on some of the tasks required to make this effort a success. We are therefore putting out a call for volunteers. If you have personally participated in one of our past events, or if you know someone who has, then you are aware of the benefits provided to our Wounded Heroes. Please seriously consider giving back and volunteering a few hours of your time to help with logistics for this event.
In order to facilitate planning we are asking that all volunteers attend a preliminary meeting. Two options are available: Tuesday 17 January at 1830, or Sunday 22 January at 1400. Both meetings will be held at the firehouse in Shelbyville, located at 200 Alpine Rd. If you plan to attend one of the meetings, or if you have questions, please respond at this link.
